Alicia Silverstone Putting Couture Before Cruelty

Alicia Sliverstone is an outspoken supporter of all creatures great and small, but did she forsake her furry friends for the sake of fashion? The New York Post says the starlet put couture before animal cruelty by donning a J. Mendel gown for the Los Angeles premiere of Beauty Shop. The problem? The design house has specialized in fur for almost 200 years. Silverstone, who was voted "World's Sexiest Vegetarian" by PETA last year, has shamed other designers into nixing pelt products and recently told CNN that "wearing fur is unacceptable ... I think nobody should be wearing fur."
